Kamakura

(March 27 and 28)

Our last stop before leaving Japan was a small seaside town called Kamakura, just south of Tokyo. It's proximity to Tokyo means that many people travel here for the day, to enjoy the beach, but sadly the weather wasn't warm enough for a day at the beach.

However, the town was busy and there were plenty of shops and restaurants to explore.

And, of course, there was also a shrine - the Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, which was an easy walk from the center of the town.

And the cherry blossoms were in full bloom here as well.

So after two nights in Kamakura, we took an early train back to Haneda Airport, where we caught our return flight to Orlando, via Washington DC.
